EASY HOME CRAFTS: Weekend Boating

Children love a weekend project and these boats are perfect for summer. Look at photographs and pictures of boats for inspiration and draw some diagrams and plans. Take a trip to the hardware store for odds and ends that you need. All these steps add to the excitement of the boat building mission. Use scrap pieces of wood, sticks, nail, glue and string to make your marvelous cargo ships, cruise liners and fishing boats. This could turn out to be a whole weekend craft activity. Children can design and help with all parts of the construction. Pack up a picnic and head to the water. When it is time to set sail tie a piece of string onto the bow so that the boats don't set their sights onto the greater oceans!
