This qualification has been designed to meet the employment requirements of Ignite Minds which is a Family Day Care service.
Graduates will also be eligible to work in any Family Day Care or Long Day Care service anywhere in Australia.
This course runs a for a minimum of 6 months. Students are encouraged to work and study at the same time, work 3 days and study 2 days per week and can charge up to $120 per child per day to look after children in their own homes in the Inner suburbs of Melbourne.
Students must attend 2 classes per month at the Abbotsford Convent (Abbotsford Victoria) between 9:30 am and 3pm weekdays and must work or volunteer in an accredited childcare or kindergarten 1 day per week for the duration of the course.
In line with Ignite Minds education philosophy, this course has been structured around a play based curriculum that promotes practical hands on approach to recognising that children learn through play. We utilise a Rudolph Steiner philosophy and a play based curriculum to facilitate learning and purposeful enriching play, enabling children to achieve their developmental outcomes. This qualification is the entry level qualification to any accredited childcare service including Family Day Care, Centre Based care, and occasional care program.
Cost depends on a number of factors including eligibility for funding. Students must attend a pre enrolment interview prior to committing any funds. Costs range from $496 concession to $5580 full fee.
