This is a great multi purpose knife made by Opinel with a strong blade (2.5 mm thick) is serrated over 3.5 cm to cut natural or synthetic ropes and has a shackle key for 4 to 10 mm shackles. Its handle is water-resistant and withstands extreme temperatures. It is also equipped with a pealess whistle. The pealess whistle with dual chamber design ensures sound won't be affected by rain or water.

The Opinel 08 Knife uses the  Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel. It is anti-corrosive thanks to the addition of chrome and requires no special maintenance. Its carbon content of at least 0.40% gives excellent cutting edge.

Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all folding knives from the N° 06. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety in transport).
